My teaching philosophy centers on scenography and costume design as a form of storytelling that connects communal experience across time and place. I approach design pedagogy from a multidisciplinary, multicultural, and intersectional lens, drawing on my own international background to build classroom environments where diverse identities and realities are acknowledged and reflected in the curriculum. Representation is a core value for me: I incorporate BIPOC, trans, and disabled perspectives into coursework and work to build my students' awareness of their own biases. Because costume design works directly with the human body, I emphasize training students in body-positive, antiracist, and trans-affirmative approaches — including technical skills like drawing and painting that help them accurately render different body types, hair textures, and skin tones.
